The Way Out
THE GAME LOOKS BETTER DOWNLOAD
One year ago, Lore disappeared.
Every morning you used to see him on the same bus.
Grey hair. Blue eyes. A red scarf that looked too thin for winter.
Then one day he was gone.
You tried to forget.
Until the Heroes Foundation hired you for a quiet night shift…
and you opened the wrong door.
Lore is there.
But something about him has changed.
And the world he’s been watching through the Foundation’s monitors might not be yours.
Sometimes, the city reflects another version of itself.
Sometimes the reflection looks back.
The Way Out is a story-driven visual novel about isolation, memory, and moving on.

I just went and played this game after playing your other two, and here's my review of this one :3
When I play through a game for the first time, I usually play exactly how I would do things if I was in that world, for better or for worse.
For that reason, playing this game and knowing that there were other endings in the first prequel, it feels like this is an alternate reality of my playthrough of the other game, and that seems so fitting for the Surreal vision of this whole world you have created.
In 'The Seat Across From Mine', I had played it so in the end we both got off the bus together, which ended with a rather hopeful note in my eyes.
When 'The Way Out' started, it was made quickly clear that this story came about in a world where the MC had decided not to speak up to Lore, only watching him until one day he disappeared from their life.

This game, with it's slightly blurred and futuristic look in comparison to the grounded (well- it took place on the bus for the most part, so what do I know?) view of the past game helped make this place so surreal.
Even then, when the MC and Lore met, the two of them seemed to pick up the wavelength they shared with each other since the start, making small jokes, and talking in a way that other people wouldn't have been able to keep up or connect with in a short time.
Something like that in a universe like this makes it feel like everything from everywhere is bleeding into the two of them, like they were always destined to see each other again, even if maybe in other playthroughs they aren't quite so happy about that fact.
In my first playthrough, MC had convinced Lore to stay.
If 'The Seat Across From Mine' gave me the feeling of walking side by side in a strange and unforgiving world with a companion, then 'The Way Out' made me feel like I was in a dream interacting with a person I felt like I had met before, and felt the same way about me.
It's kind of disjointed, and is fast to fit in a dream.
Soren appeared and then disappeared with Lore's discontent, along with a notice that we never saw him again, which to me feels like such a dream-like thing to happen.

The Mirror World is so entrancing, the fact that there is so many universes with so many subtle differences in the city's architecture that looks like looking at the big picture of so many lives so different in other lives.
In one someone decided to build a hospital.
In another, maybe they didn't last long enough to make it happen.
How many ways would that change the world and so many people involved?
It really makes you think.

I would love to see more of Lore from you, if you decide to give us the next game.
Thank you for all the work you do!
I love Lore so much! He is incredibly strong trying that hard all on his own for so long. I wonder if that is why he sounds so wise. He loves moving without a destination so that he doesn't have to think. He loves imagining himself somewhere far away, somewhere that he can be happy. It's cute. It's sad. He speaks like he is much older than he really is. And is very blunt and honest. I like that. Thank you for the happy ending, and please make one more game. I need more content with Lore in it!
